Happy Christmas!

David, Eamon, Steve and everyone at Modus would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year. Thanks very much for your business in 2011 and we look forward to working with you again in 2012 and beyond. This year, instead of sending Christmas cards, Modus has made a donation to Saint Vincent de Paul.

Modus first Irish language ecommerce site live

Another first for Modus. We’ve just put our first as Gaeilge ecommerce site live. Futa Fata is an independent publishing house, working predominately in the Irish (Gaelic) language. The vast majority of their output is for children and young people but they have a small number of titles for adults.

They have a big following for their books, among both native speakers of Irish and among children all over the country who attend Gaelscoileanna, Irish-medium immersion schools. Futa Fata titles are also used extensively in Irish schools, all over the island of Ireland. Their publications and audio recordings have been highly praised by children, parents and educators alike for the accessible, natural style of Irish used.

Futa Fata is the Irish publisher most involved in international co-edition, publishing Irish editions of titles in co-operation with partners in Spain, Belgium, Canada, the US, and the UK. They offer their own original titles on the international market, either as co-edition or through licensing agreement.

Modus completely redesigned and redeveloped the Futa Fata site. It is full ecommerce functionality, a content management system, social media and of course the entire site is bilingual. Visit www.futafata.ie.

 

Redesigned Skeff web site now live

The Skeffington Arms Hotel; or The Skeff as the locals call it, is knows as Galway’s meeting place. Since 1850 the people of Galway have been coming to The Skeff for the great quality food, the friendliness of its staff and the lively nightlife but most importantly they go there for the Sceil (gossip), to meet old friends and catch up over a drink or two.

Lesotho Embassy web site now live

Modus has designed and developed the web site for the Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho in Ireland. Lesotho is a land-locked kingdom completely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa. The Dublin Embassy is responsible for representing and promoting relations between Lesotho and the following countries of accreditation: Ireland, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Sweden. 5 Modus websites are Finalists at the 2011 Irish Web Awards

Here’s some good news that’s lifted our spirits on this wet and windy October Monday morning. Five of our sites have made the finalist list at the prestigious 2011 Realex Payments Irish Web Awards. They are; Phantom.ie for Best Radio Website;  Vicarstreet.ie for Best Entertainment Website; Disabilitybray.ie for Best Government and Council Website; Dunamaise.ie for Best Practice and finally Modus.ie for Web Agency of the Year.

Many Modus sites have been shortlisted for Irish Web Awards in recent years and we won a couple of gongs in 2008 and 2009. Let’s hope we don’t go away empty handed this year. Best of luck to all the finalists. The awards take place at the Mansion House, Dublin on October 22nd.
