Irish Postmasters’ Union launches new web site

David Henry, Operations Director of Modus I.T. Ltd. speaking at the launch of www.postmasters.ie at the Irish Postmasters' Union Conference in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal. The new Irish Postmasters’  Union web site (www.postmasters.ie) was launched at this year’s annual conference in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.

Following a competitive tendering process in which a number of companies were invited to submit proposals to the Union, Modus I.T. Ltd. was selected to develop the web site for the Union.

The Irish Postmasters’ Union is the representative organisation / lobby group for small / sub post offices in Ireland with 26 branches nationwide and a total of 950 members. They wanted to establish a strong internet presence with a simple-to-navigate, contemporary, professional web site. This was designed and built from scratch with a web site template and a content management system. It uses the latest functionality such as html newsletters and an integrated members’ area, where members can update their listings online, thus saving administration time and reducing errors.

Eamon Donovan, Marketing Director of Modus I.T. Ltd. said that Modus had worked very closely with Brian McGann, General Secretary of the Irish Postmasters’ Union and that Modus and Postmasters were both happy with the new site. Donovan also believed that the web site had been delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
