Trading Online Voucher Scheme During COVID-19

You might be aware of the Trading Online Voucher scheme, whereby Local Enterprise Boards (LEOs) fund up to €2,500 towards ecommerce website projects. Well, due to the move away from bricks and mortar to remote working and online sales, the LEOs have changed the rules.

Under the Government’s National Digital Strategy, the expanded Trading Online Voucher Scheme helps small businesses with up to 10 employees to trade more online, boost sales and reach new markets. There is up to €2,500 available through the Local Enterprise Offices with co-funding of 10% from the business. This used to be matching funding, so if the job cost €5,000, the Local Enterprise Board would pay 50% and the applicant the other 50%. The applicant’s portion has been reduced to 10%, so if the job costs €5k, each party will still have to shell out €2.5k. If it costs €4k, the applicant pays €1.5k and so on.
